Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has added her voice to the British Heart Foundation's call for people to Ramp up the Red and raise awareness of
Yesterday, Caroline visited the British Heart Foundation's first ever pop-up-shop in the Palace of Westminster and met with shop staff and volunteers to hear how BHF shops raise vital funds for life-saving research.heart disease.
She also pledged her support to the Ramp Up the Red fundraising campaign which encourages the public to wear something red, host a red-themed party or bake some red-coloured treats this Friday (7th February).
Caroline said:
"By popping-up in Parliament, the British Heart Foundation has reminded us of the important role that their shops play in raising funds for life-saving research.
I hope that people in Gosport and across the UK will pledge their support to the charity by taking part in Ramp Up the Red on the 7th February."
Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer, responsible for almost 74,000 deaths in the UK each year, an average of 200 people each day. There are currently 2.3 million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease.
