Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage celebrated the centenary of International Women’s Day (IWD) by taking part in the “Join me on the Bridge” march from Westminster Bridge to the Royal Festival Hall alongside a host of other female parliamentarians.
IWD is a global event celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. This year’s global theme was “Equal access to education” and with new initiatives such as the pupil premium coming into force later this year – this Government remains committed to providing good quality education for all.
Caroline said: “International Women’s Day provides a great opportunity to celebrate the fantastic contribution all women have made throughout history. With hundreds of IWD events taking place up and down the country there are plenty of chances for people to get involved and pledge their support to this worthy cause.”
