Local MP Caroline Dinenage will celebrate the artistic talent of the young people from her constituency at an event to announce the winner of her Christmas card design competition on Monday.
Caroline wrote to all primary schools in Gosport, Lee on the Solent, Stubbington & Hill Head earlier in the year, inviting pupils to submit designs for her 2013 Christmas card competition. Having received over 100 entries, Caroline was joined by Cllr John Beavis (Mayor of Gosport), Mark Waldron (editor of The News) and Andy Wing (prolific local artist) to judge the designs.
After a lot of deliberation, the winner and three runners up have been decided upon and will be announced during an event at Gosport Discovery Centre on Monday evening.
Speaking ahead of the event, Caroline said:
"I was very impressed to see such fabulous creativity from our local school pupils and hope that they enjoyed designing their entries. A huge thanks goes to all of the teachers who co-ordinated their school's participation in the competition."
The event at Gosport Discovery Centre will begin at 5pm on Monday 2nd December and all entries will be on display at the Centre until Monday 9th December.
