Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage this week welcomed a local addition to the Strangers’ Bar at the House of Commons.
Caroline has arranged for Gosport’s very own Oakleaf Brewery to provide the “guest beer” to the Strangers’ Bar, a bar frequented by Members of Parliament. The Quercus Folium, a traditional hoppy bitter with a malty aftertaste, made its much awaited debut at the bar on Monday 7th March.
To mark this special occasion Caroline hosted the official launch of the beer this week. Fellow MPs were on hand to lend their support and enjoyed the chance to sample Oakleaf Brewery’s fine offering and meet with the brewer, Ed Anderson.
Caroline said: “I am greatly looking forward to bringing this Gosport beer into the national spotlight. It is vital to support local industries like Oakleaf Brewery which create unique products and bring growth and employment to our community.”
Ed Anderson, of Oakleaf Brewery, also welcomed this chance to publicise the work of local brewers. He said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to promote the needs of Microbrewers like myself to a wider and ever increasing audience."
