Local MP Caroline Dinenage today encouraged local schoolchildren to get involved in The UK Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge (UKAYRoc).
UKAYRoc is the largest model rocket showcase in the UK, and involves teams from schools across the country pitting their wits against one another to see who can design the best rocket.
Commenting, Caroline said:
"The Rocketry Challenge is a fantastic way to show more students in the Gosport area that not only does getting involved in engineering give you lots of exciting career options, but that it can be great fun too!
I'm keen to encourage as many schools, colleges and young people in the Gosport area as possible to enter the 2014 challenge."
UKAYRoC is open to the first 140 teams that submit an application by 20th December 2013. Teams must be made up of a minimum of three and no more than five students who are currently enrolled in years 7 through 13 in a UK school. Full details can be found at www.ukayroc.org.uk.
