Each year Caroline invites representatives of voluntary groups and charities from across the Gosport peninsula to an event in Parliament, which she funds, to thank them for the work they do for the local community.
Speaking after the event, Caroline praised the work of volunteers in her constituency:
"I was delighted to welcome local volunteers to Westminster this evening. Their work is invaluable and I always enjoy the opportunity to personally thank them for their commitment to such excellent causes.
The fact that this event gets bigger each year just shows how many people in Gosport are giving something back to their community. Their dedication is truly inspirational."
Organisations that were represented at the event included Gosport Girl Guiding, Lee-on-the-Solent Voluntary Care Group, The Basics Bank and Stubbington Church Groups. After a light buffet, guests were treated to a tour of the Estate which included Westminster Hall, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Entertainment was provided by young musicians from Brune Park Community School.
