Dame Caroline Dinenage, Member of Parliament for Gosport, has paid tribute to the fallen from Gosport, Lee on the Solent, Stubbington and Hill Head, by planting a cross in Parliament’s Garden of Remembrance.
The Constituency Garden of Remembrance, located in New Palace Yard in the Houses of Parliament, gives Members of Parliament the opportunity to place a memorial cross on behalf of their constituents.
The garden serves as a focal point for Parliament to express its thanks and remembrance of service personnel and those who have fallen.
Speaking on the occasion, Caroline said:
“Laying a cross in the Garden of Remembrance on behalf of all my constituents is a truly special privilege.
Acts of Remembrance are so important to honour those who have fallen in the line of duty, and of course over the weekend there will be lots of memorial services across the constituency which I would encourage constituents to get involved with.”
