Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has welcomed the news that the Planning Inspectorate has dismissed Bargate Homes appeal to build 150 homes on the land West of Old Street.
Bargate Homes applied for planning permission from Fareham Borough Council in December 2017. Caroline objected to this planning application, which was refused by Fareham Borough Council in March last year.
Bargate Homes subsequently appealed their decision, which has now been dismissed.
Commenting Caroline said:
“I know that many residents had grave concerns about this building proposal and I shared their worries about the potentially negative impact on Titchfield Haven nature reserve.
I am really pleased to see that the Planning Inspector has taking these concerns on board and that this development will not be taking place.
