Local MP Caroline Dinenage will announce the winner of her third annual Christmas Card Design competition at a presentation event on Friday.
Earlier this year, Caroline wrote to all primary schools in Gosport, Lee on the Solent, Stubbington & Hill Head, inviting pupils to submit designs for her 2015 Christmas card competition. Caroline was joined by a judging panel which included the Mayor of Gosport, Keith Farr, Steve Reid from Blitz Photography and The Gosport Globe Editor Robin Young and after much deliberation a decision was made.
On Friday 18th December at 4pm a presentation will take place at Gosport Discovery Centre which all of the participants have been invited to attend. All of the entries will be on display in the Children's Section of the Discovery Centre until 9 January 2016.
Speaking ahead of Friday's announcement, Caroline said:
"The young people of Gosport never cease to amaze with their artistic skills, imagination and creativity. There were so many impressive designs that this year we have a shortlist of 12, it was a very tough decision to make but I am thrilled with the final designs that have featured on this year's card.
I hope that all of the young people who took part enjoyed the competition and I would like to thank the schools who co-ordinated the entries."
This year's competition follows on from the success of the 2014 competition which was won by Maia Cooper from Crofton Hammond Infant School.
