Caroline Dinenage, local MP for Gosport, has been invited to sit on the Marine Sector Advisory Group (MSAG). This influential panel of industry leaders advises the Government on how to promote the marine sector overseas and ensures that it remains globally competitive. As Gosport is home to a large number of marine businesses, Caroline is keen to ensure the ongoing prosperity of the sector and will be advising the group on a wide range of related issues.
Robert Hill OBE, Chairman of the MSAG, said, ‘We are delighted that Caroline has joined us on the group and I am certain she will make an invaluable contribution. Gosport is a very important region for our sector and solid growth in this area will greatly benefit the wider industry.’
Speaking of her appointment, Caroline said, ‘I am very pleased to be a part of the MSAG. As a strong supporter of the marine industry within my constituency, I believe that I can provide valuable insight into the local benefits of the sector, as well as help to safeguard the livelihoods of many of my constituents. This role, coupled with my ongoing work to secure the future of the Daedalus site, will allow me to influence the Government’s thinking on the sector and help to build Gosport’s reputation as the natural home for innovative marine businesses.’
