Local MP Caroline Dinenage announced the winner of her fourth annual Christmas Card Design competition at Gosport Discovery Centre this evening.
Earlier this year, Caroline invited primary schools in Gosport, Lee on the Solent, Stubbington & Hill Head to submit designs for her 2016 Christmas card competition and received over 200 entries!
Nevaeh-Rose MacLennan, aged 5 from Rowner Infant School was crowned overall winner with her stunning Big Ben at Christmas design.
This year's runners up, whose designs features on the back of the card were, Eystan Mawby-Moore from Alverstoke Infant School, Fleur Edwards from Crofton Hammond Infant School and Macie-Jane Apps from Haselworth Primary School.
After the announcement Caroline commented:
"This year's decision was so difficult due to the amount of brilliant designs I received. It it was fantastic to meet my so many of the artists that took part in this year's Christmas card competition – they are all extremely talented with artistic skills, imagination and creativity.
With the talent that they are already showing at such young ages I am sure that there are great things in store for these budding artists and I look forward to receiving their entries next year!"
All of the entries will be on display in the Children's Section of the Discovery Centre until 19 December 2016. You can also see the 4 shortlisted designs here.
This year's judging panel included Caroline, the Mayor of Gosport Lynn Hook, Will Rooney from The News and award winning artist Daniel Williams.
