A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM GRAHAM BURGESS
With the retirement of County Councillor Margaret Snaith to meet family commitments, a by-election will take place on Thursday May 5th to elect a new County Councillor for Lee Division – this Division comprising Lee-on-the-Solent, Grange and Rowner.
I am both honoured and proud to have been chosen to be your Conservative Candidate in this by-election. I look forward to the challenge of meeting the high standards set by Margaret Snaith, who has served us all well in years past. Margaret will be a difficult act to follow!
Having lived in Lee Division for over 30 years I know the problems we all face day to day. If elected I will, as a local resident, do my utmost to continue to serve the best interests of you all. I feel confident that my experience as Deputy Leader of Gosport Borough Council has provided me with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to promote Lee Division effectively in Hampshire County Council.
I stand for common sense, fair play, a better environment and honest financial management. Lee Division needs a County Council representative who will ensure value for money and investment in front line services. The county’s main responsibilities are education, social care and health, the environment, planning, roads and transport, waste and recycling, business and the economy. All of these impact greatly on our Division and we must therefore have a county councillor that is up to the job. I believe I can be that councillor.
Please do not rely on other people to vote Conservative on 5 May, your vote is needed to make Lee Division a better place in which to live, work and play.
