Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is backing the Government's 'Exporting is GREAT' campaign to boost exporting by small businesses.
The 'Exporting is GREAT' initiative is part of the 'Britain is GREAT' campaign and aims to tackle the lack of confidence many SMEs have about exporting. It is hoped that over 3000 appointments with UKTI International Trade Advisors will be generated, giving small businesses access to expert advice, support and finance.
Caroline said:
"International trade offers a significant boost to a company's commercial success, and with just 25% of British businesses currently exporting, it is clear that we are missing an invaluable opportunity to stimulate growth. Exporting is also essential to the UK's economic recovery, in fact, if the number of small businesses exporting was to increase from the current 1 in 5 to just 1 in 4, we would wipe out the trade deficit overnight.
That is why I am pleased that the Government is making help even more accessible to small businesses and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage SMEs on the Gosport peninsula to make the most of advice from UKTI."
Since her election Caroline has championed the cause of SMEs, working hard to encourage enterprise and innovation on the Gosport peninsula. More recently, she was appointed Small Business Ambassador for the south by the Prime Minister.
