Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has praised the 2018 Key Stage 2 results for primary schools across Gosport.
Figures released by the Department of Education show that 13 Primary Schools in the Gosport Constituency have seen an increase from last year in the proportion of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics, with 9 of these performing better than then national average.
Commenting Caroline said:
“I would like to applaud the hard work and effort of teachers, pupils and parents who have adjusted well to the reformed KS2 tests and improved results throughout the constituency.
These more demanding KS2 tests have set a higher standard in schools, bringing England’s primary school curriculum closer to the curricula common in countries with the most successful education systems.”
