Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, is encouraging constituents to sign up to take part in the Gosport Heritage Open Days this year between September 11th and 20th.
This year, both virtual and in-person events will take place to ensure that residents can learn more about Gosport’s amazing history from the comfort of their armchair or at the site itself.
This year’s theme is Hidden Nature and virtual events include live webinars from Gosport’s own TV and radio presenter, Pam Rhodes, talking about her recent book ‘Arthur’s Garden: up the garden path and down memory lane.’
Local residents are also invited to take part in an online event called ‘The Nature of Gosport during Lockdown: a community view’ and share their personal photos of Gosport’s nature and wildlife.
Caroline commented:
“Gosport, Hill Head, Stubbington and Lee-on-the-Solent has an amazing history, and this week is a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn more about our heritage which has shaped our community.
“I am really pleased to see that this year’s festival can still go ahead, whether in person or virtually, with social distancing measures in place.”
Online bookings can take place from August 29th at 10am: http://www.gosportheritage.co.uk/.
