Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has called on local schools to take part in My Money Week 2013, giving pupils the chance to learn more about money and personal finance.
Now in its fifth year, My Money Week will run from 3rd to 9th June and aims to develop young people's financial skills, knowledge and confidence through special lessons, activities and debates in schools across the UK.
Speaking ahead of the scheme's launch, Caroline said:
"The My Money Week is a great initiative designed to give our young people quality personal finance education, allowing them to leave school equipped with the knowledge and confidence to manage their money effectively.
This is particularly important given the current economic conditions and I would encourage all schools on the Gosport peninsula to seize the opportunity and take part in this worthwhile scheme."
Since the first My Money Week in 2009, more than three million young people have been helped to understand more about money and personal finance. Teachers can pre-order their free My Money Week Activity Packs here.
