Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage is marking Volunteers' Week 2015 by joining local charities to thank volunteers for their contribution to the community.
Volunteers' Week is an annual celebration in recognition of the dedication and hard work of volunteers across the country and this year it is taking place from 1-7 June.
Caroline has always been a keen supporter of volunteers across the Gosport area and has visited numerous local community projects and charities since she was first elected in 2010. For the past four years she has also hosted a reception in Westminster for volunteers from the constituency, which she funds herself.
Commending volunteers, Caroline said:
"Volunteers are so important to the work of charities and organisations – they have an invaluable presence in communities across the UK, helping out in places from sports clubs to hospitals.
We have such a strong body of volunteers in Gosport, Stubbington, Lee-on-the-Solent and Hill Head who give up so much of their time to help other people in our area and give back to our local community. I am extremely proud of their inspirational dedication."
