Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed news that Fareham & Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group will receive the largest increase in funding in the Thames Valley region over the next two years.
Earlier today, NHS England revealed the CCG budget allocations for 2014/15 and 2015/16. The figures show that Fareham & Gosport CCG will get a 3.49% budget increase in 2014/15, followed by a 3.17% rise in 2015/16.
This comes as welcome news to Caroline who recently wrote to the Clinical Chair of the local CCG, expressing her concerns that Fareham & Gosport CCG was the 4th most underfunded CCG in 2013/14.
Speaking after the announcement, Caroline said:
"I am delighted to hear that our local CCG will receive a greater allocation of funding over the next two years. The budgets given to these groups have a significant impact on health outcomes in their geographical area so every little helps.
One of the biggest concerns that I have had in recent months is the postcode lottery which dictates the availability of IVF treatment. Having previously been restricted by budgeting issues, I hope that the CCG will now look favourably on my request to bring local rules in line with national guidelines."
Every CCG in the country will receive an inflationary budget rise of at least 2.14%, thanks to this Government's commitment to increasing local NHS budgets.
